“Introduce Referee Match Bans!” by Reggy Mourinho
I believe that punishments should be introduced for Referees and Linesmen when they make shocking match changing decisions! Maybe then they would pull their socks up and make sure they make correct and fair decisions.
Like yesterday, Freddie Ljungberg’s goals should have stood as a goal, he was clearly onside. If the Referee and Linesmen had made the only correct decision, West Ham could have been given the opportunity to get a point or 3! Disgraceful! And last week during Chelsea’s game against Man U, the Mikel challenge was by no means a Red Card offence but there should have been questions about the Joe Cole stuntman style lunge - make up your mind Ref!
There have been loads of instances where match officials have messed up and potentially cost a team points or even a title, but where is there punishment? There needs to be some sort of match ban put in place for officials too - they need to see how much their poor judgement costs and be punished for it1
